The Las Vegas School of Film is a new film school in the Las Vegas area, just getting its start at the beginning of 2009. The school provides courses called Film Boot Camps
which are a series of courses starting from 1-week to 3-months.Depending on how much students would like to learn, they can choose to take whichever course suits them best according to time and affordability. The courses are shorter and cheaper courses than many other film programs, which provide a quick and affordable way for aspiring filmmakers to get a head-start on their career in these difficult economical times. It is said that the graduates even get to use the film equipment for free after they finish and have payment plans as well. “Take our 2-week course,” says Denny Morales, CEO, “which is $599, and compare it to other film schools with the same course; they are charging more than twice that.”
Not only is LVSF here to help aspiring filmmakers through the tough economy, they also are the only school in the city that caters to just film. The courses have you make a film, from start to finish, in the way that it is done in the industry. Their program guarantees students do real casting calls and get real film permits. “We have our students really get in the mix and get down and dirty,” says Denny, “basically do the job that you would do in the real world.”
